West Point Simulations Center: VR/AR Intern
As a VR/AR Intern at the West Point Simulation Center, I worked across a wide range of technical and operational roles that supported simulation training, instructional design, and emerging technology development. My responsibilities spanned VR/AR system maintenance, scenario building, live training support, documentation, and research into future simulation capabilities.
I supported the center’s training efforts by maintaining and configuring simulation hardware, AV systems, and mixed-reality platforms. This included setting up headsets, calibrating sensors, updating software, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring systems were fully mission-ready for cadets and instructors.
My work required adaptability, technical versatility, strong communication skills, and the ability to transition seamlessly between hands-on problem solving, user-facing support, and forward-looking R&D. The experience gave me a deep foundation in simulation technology, VR/AR workflows, IT and AV infrastructure, and collaborative technical work in a fast-paced environment.
